So I'm reading my recent issue of Rolling Stone magazine yesterday and in the sidebar of the article about Marla Ruzicka (more on that in an upcoming post), I see a advertisement for Zappos, an on-line shoe store. What caught my attention was the "365-day guarantee" (pretty sweet promise considering it's impossible to try on a shoe over the net).
That got me thinking. I wonder: what guarantees churches offer... or could offer? What kind of promises would help our guests check out our "product" with less risk and more confidence? So, I did some checking around and found Highland Park Church in Nashville, TN.
Here's their promise to new guests:
- "We have an Anti-Stalking Guarantee so you will not be called or bothered after you visit... that's our promise."
If I was not a follower of Christ and a new guest at Highland Park, that guarantee would take the edge off for me! I'm going to find out more about what that means for this church, but for now - hats off to them for this no-risk approach in Nashville, TN!
Watch for more posts on "inspiring guarantees". I'll post at least one each week for the next several weeks.
